Book Translation Program

The Embassy, through the Book Translation Program and Sahinpasic publishing company donated to Sarajevo’s Faculty of Economics 500 copies of the following two titles: "Economic Development" by Michael P. Todaro and "E-marketing" by Judy Strauss, Adel El-Ansary, Raymond Fros. Deputy Chief of Mission Judith Cefkin presented the books to the Faculty's Vice-Dean, Dzevad Sehic.

These two titles will be used by professors and students of economics as primary texts for basic economics classes. The book translation program encourages translation and reprinting of key works of American traditional and contemporary thought for foreign audiences. These books help strengthen understanding of American perspectives on issues of bilateral and global concern. By working cooperatively with foreign publishers and translators, book translation and reprinting programs also promote observance of intellectual property rights and foster the growth of publishing industries as vital components of civil societies in developing countries.
