Muslims of New York Exhibit Opens

On Friday, March 14 United States Ambassador to BiH Charles English opened an Embassy-sponsored exhibition of photographs by Zijah Gafic entitled “Muslims of New York” at the Bosniak Institute. Gafić has exhibited in many countries and has received wide recognition for his work. In this exhibit, Gafić has captured people of different ethnic groups practicing the same faith, Islam, in New York City. Through his photographs, he compares their traditions and illustrates the diversity of the Muslim community in New York as well as how they integrate in American society.
