Sarajevo Jazz Festival opens with flair

Grammy award winner Dianne Reeves opened the 12th annual Sarajevo Jazz Festival this week. Ms. Reeves and her band performed one night after the historic U.S. presidential elections, and this energy was reflected in their performance. The crowd of more than 1,000 people were very receptive to her American style of jazz, and in particular to her attention to Barack Obama’s victory. Ms. Reeves also used this opportunity to thank the U.S. Embassy for organizing such a successful Election Night Event, which she and her band members attended. More than 10 media outlets covered the opening event, which is sponsored by the Office of Public Affairs.
