US Congressional Delegation in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Senator Benjamin L. Cardin (D-MD), Chairman of the Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe (U.S. Helsinki Commission) lead a bipartisan Congressional delegation to Bosnia and Herzegovina on June 27 and 28, 2009. During their visit to Sarajevo, members of the US delegation had a series of meetings, including at the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as, the meeting with representatives of political parties from Bosnia and Herzegovina. As part of their effort to learn more about the current situation in BiH, the delegation met with a group of university students from Tuzla, Banja Luka, Sarajevo, Travnik and Mostar. The U.S. Congressional delegation underscored that the U.S.’ vision is Bosnia and Herzegovina as part of the European Union and NATO.
