U.S. Embassy Welcomes Rs National Assembly’s Decision On Police Reform

The United States joins the Office of the High Representative, the European Commission and the EU Presidency in welcoming the action taken by the RS National Assembly in its session on police reform October 5. Police reform is the principal remaining task required for Bosnia and Herzegovina to join its neighbors in the region on the road to European integration. Acceptance by the RSNA of the three EC principles on policing in accordance with the European Commission's requirements is a significant step forward in this process. Further action will be required by the Federation and State parliaments, and we urge all parties to work closely together to bring this issue to a quick and successful close in line with EC requirements.
