On Friday, February 3, 2006, Deputy Chief of Mission of the United States in Bosnia and Herzegovina Tina Kaidanow will award course completion certificates to 23 SIPA officers who participated in a three-week course in “Vital Installation Security.” The course was sponsored by the Office of Anti-Terrorism Assistance programs in the U.S. Department of State’s Diplomatic Security Bureau, which provides training and equipment to foreign law enforcement and civilian security organizations to enhance their capacity to counter terrorist activities. The course is part of the close cooperation of BiH law enforcement agencies with the world-wide effort to combat terrorism. U.S.-BiH cooperation in this area will increase as the capabilities of police, judicial and prosecutorial institutions grow.
