2007 Press Releases

Ambassador to Inaugurate Water Project

March 15, 2007

On March 16, 2007 US Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina Douglas McElhaney and Major General William D. Catto, Chief of Staff, United States European Command will inaugurate a project through which a total of 6,700 meters of main water distribution pipline was replaced in Milici municipality.

The Office of Defense Cooperation, United States European Command, financed this project, which  demonstrates the continuing good will of the American people towards Bosnia and Herzegovina and serves as an example of what a professional military is capable of accomplishing. It also demonstrates that BiH has progressed from the point of needing a huge US military peace keeping presence in country, and that a new form of bilateral cooperation has emerged between the two countries.

The inauguration ceremony will be held at the fountain in front of the new shoping mall in Milici at 11:30 on Friday, March 16, 2007. All media representatives are cordially invited to cover this event. For additional information on the location of the event, please contact Office of Public Affairs, US Embassy Sarajevo at 061-138-988.
