U.S. Embassy disappointed by rejection of the High Representative's Police Reform Proposal
August 31, 2007
The United States Embassy is deeply disappointed by the actions of SBIH, SDA, and RS-based political parties rejecting the High Representative's police reform proposal. These actions risk undermining Bosnia's last chance to conclude a Stabilization and Association Agreement this year. The Embassy fully supports the High Representative's efforts and urges Bosnian political leaders to heed the call by Enlargement Commissioner Olli Rehn to conclude an agreement as soon as possible. Blocking a police reform agreement will only jeopardize the European future of the Bosnian people.
