U.S. Ambassador to BiH Douglas McElhaney's Farewell Event at the National Theater and City Hall

On September 6, 2007, in honor of the completion of the mandate of Douglas McElhaney as the United States Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina, the United States Embassy in Sarajevo will host an event in the Sarajevo National Theater, during which US Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina Douglas McElhaney will make farewell remarks, and the Sarajevo Philharmonic Orchestra will perform. Following the performance, the United States Embassy will host a reception in the City Hall (Vijecnica).

The Sarajevo National Theater event will take place on September 6, 2007 beginning promptly at 19:30. The reception in Vijecnica will begin at 21:00.

All media representatives are invited to cover both of these events.

IMPORTANT: Media interested in covering these events NEED TO REGISTER with the Office of Public Affairs of the US Embassy Sarajevo.

They are kindly requested to send media affiliation, names and ID numbers of reporters, cameramen, photographers and other possible members of crews no later than Wednesday, September 5 at 17:00 to the following fax 033/619-593 or e-mail bhinfo@state.gov.

We would encourage media outlets to register two separate crews for National Theater and Vijecnica. At your registration sheet, please note which crew is registered for which event.

MEDIA THAT HAVE NOT REGISTERED BY THE DEADLINE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ATTEND THE EVENT. 

Due to security procedures, we kindly request all media representatives to arrive at the Sarajevo National Theater building, service entrance (Obala Kulina Bana 9) at 18:30 on Thursday, September 6, 2007.  Media representatives (separate crews) who have registered only for the Vijecnica event, should arrive at the location no later than 20:30 on September 6, 2007. 

NOTE to the media: Sound distribution at the Sarajevo National Theater will be provided. Media representatives are advised to bring extra cabling in order to be able to pick up the sound. For planning purposes, we would like to inform you that the program part of the event will end by 21:00.
