Youth Leadership Program Reunion Conference in Mostar

On Saturday, September 29, 2007, the Office of Public Affairs of the U.S. Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina will organize a conference for secondary school students and teachers who participated in the US Government-funded Youth Leadership Program. The conference will take place in Mostar, and will gather about 70 students and teachers who participated in this program from 2003-2007.
The Youth Leadership Program is designed for secondary school students and teachers from Bosnia and Herzegovina and trains them in leadership skills. Each year the program is implemented in three different cities throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina, so the conference will be attended by students and teachers from Zenica, Prijedor, Banja Luka, Travnik, Tuzla, Livno, and Mostar, as well as guests from the United States.
The goal of the conference is to empower youth activists involved in the Youth Leadership Program for future engagement in common civic initiatives that will develop BiH civil society.
Official opening of the conference will take place on Saturday, September 29, 2007 in Hotel Bristol Conference Hall, Mostarskog bataljona bb, Mostar starting at 09:00 a.m. Mrs. Kimberly Murphy, Cultural and Educational Attaché of the US Embassy Sarajevo will deliver opening remarks.
