Groundbreaking Ceremony for the new U.S. Embassy Compound

On March 26, 2008 the United States Embassy in Sarajevo will organize a groundbreaking ceremony for the new Embassy compound. United States Ambassador to BiH Charles English, Chairman of the Presidency of BiH Haris Silajdzic and a representative of the Office of Overseas Building Operations will speak at the ceremony.

The groundbreaking ceremony will take place on March 26, 2008 at 14:00, at the site of the future US Embassy compound, Zmaja od Bosne bb.
All media representatives are invited to cover this event.

IMPORTANT: Media interested in covering this event NEED TO REGISTER with the Office of Public Affairs of the US Embassy Sarajevo.

They are kindly requested to send media affiliation, names and ID numbers of reporters, cameramen, photographers and other possible members of crews no later than Monday, March 24 at 17:00 to the following fax 033/619-593 or e-mail bhinfo@state.gov.

MEDIA THAT HAVE NOT REGISTERED BY THE DEADLINE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ATTEND THE EVENT. 

Due to security procedures, we kindly request cameraman, photographers and technical staff to arrive at the future site of the new United States Embassy, Zmaja od Bosne bb (entrance to the site is from the main street, opposite of Historijski muzej BiH) at 12:30. Journalists should arrive at 13:00.
NOTE to the media: Sound distribution will be provided. Media representatives are advised to bring extra cabling in order to be able to pick up the sound. Please be advised that we will distribute translations of speeches in written form.
