American Councils is proud to announce:
Youth Exchange and Study (YES)

High-school student exchange program

YES is a fully-funded (FREE) opportunity for high-school students in Bosnia and Herzegovina to spend an academic year abroad in the United States, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State.  Students will live with a host family and attend an American high school beginning fall 2010.

Program presentation and high-school student registration 10:00:

  • Banja Luka – September 28th - Elementary school “Ivo Andrić”, Branka Radičevića 16,
  • Tuzla – October 1st - Pedagogical institute in Tuzla, Bosne srebrene 119,
  • Mostar – October 5th - Nansen Dialogue Center (NDC), Alekse Šantića, Tvrtka Miloša 19,
  • Sarajevo – October 7th - High-school of Mechanical Engineering Sarajevo,  Zmaja od Bosne 8.

Eligibility Requirements:

Students must be:

  • Currently enrolled in the first or second grade in fall 2009;
  • A citizen of BiH;
  • Proficient in the English language;
  • Born between January 1, 1993 and July 15, 1995.

STUDENTS TAKE THE FIRST TEST ON THE DAY OF REGISTRATION

Students should bring:

  • a recent 3 x 4 cm photograph;
  • birth certificate, passport or student ID;
  • a pen.
